Dialogue[]

The Throne of Chaos[]

At the Throne Room:
Richard: I tell you we must march with whatever troops can be gathered locally!
Geron: Isn't Eric mustering his White Army? Have we lost all confidence in our own military capabilities?
Richard: Eric is the finest commander in the kingdom. But, he is a five day march from here!
Dawn: As long as we have our own magic, I really don't see where we need more than the defenses we already have in place.
Richard: Scotia is not an adversary to be taken lightly!
Richard (As soon as he notices the Champion): Ah, [Champion]. Because of the threat from Scotia, I now have an urgent need for the Ruby of Truth. Please retrieve it from Roland's estate in the Southland and return it to Gladstone.
Richard: Here is a key to my private library. Among the books you will find a Magic Atlas that should be of assistance on your journey.
Geron: Come by my office before you leave the Keep. I'll give you a Writ that will identify you as being on official business for his Highness.

Scotia's attack on King Richard in the Throne Room:
Dawn: Leave him vile witch!
Scotia: You cannot stop me! I found the Mask! My warriors have the Ruby, and this realm will soon beg for mercy beneath my heel!
Dawn: Postpone your celebration, hag! I will not permit this travesty!
Scotia: Oh? The inept charmer threatens me??
Scotia: (after being struck by her own magic attack): You, Dawn, will be the first to grovel at my feet!

After King Richard's Poisoning:
Dawn: He still lives, but we have no antidote, and he sinks deeper by the minute! We must now channel all of our magic into a protective shield.
Dawn: Elvni Mekilno Connaax!
Dawn: This shroud will prevent any further action of the poison, and protect Richard until the cure can be located.

Approaching Paulson:
PaulsonI don't know about you people, but I'm going down to the Urbish Mines and get to the bottom of all this mask business! DawnCome now Paulson, do not be so rash! The Urbish Mines are where Scotia found the Mask! The Dark Army is surely swarming all over that place. PaulsonWell, I won't just sit here on my backside while that wench has her way with the whole countryside!

Approaching Dawn:
Dawn: Our potions cannot cure him, but legends speak of an Elixir that could.

Interacting with the Shroud:
Dawn: This shroud has required all of our magic to create.
Dawn: Nothing can cause Richard further harm now.

Interacting with the Pyramid Keys:
Dawn: Richard will remain in suspended animation until the shroud has been unlocked.
Dawn: Each of the Council has one of the four key orbs needed to open this enchanted shroud.

Paulson: Enough talk! We've got to do something now!
Dawn: We will need your help [Champion]. We must ask that you visit the Draracle. Perhaps he knows a cure for Richard.
The Champion: The Who? And where is it? Do you know, Timothy?
Dawn: Unfortunately, Timothy's services are needed here. Baccata will join you in Timothy's stead.
The Champion: Well then, I will meet up with you later Timothy.
Baccata: I am familiar with the path to the Draracle and I would be honored to join you in your quest.
Timothy: Farewell [Champion]. You had best hurry. Do not grieve at our separation. Baccata is a good man and will be an asset to you on your journey.
Dawn: Your time has come [Champion], to walk the paths of magic. This mystic album will hold the spells that you acquire. Practice, and learn to use it well.

In case Timothy didn't join the party:
Dawn: We will need your help [Champion]. We must ask that you visit the Draracle. Perhaps he knows a cure for Richard.
The Champion: The Who? And where is it?
Dawn: Baccata will join you.
The Champion: Welcome Baccata. Let us find a cure!
Baccata: I am familiar with the path to the Draracle and I would be honored to join you in your quest.
Dawn: Remember Baccata, you are a guide only. Do not involve yourself in fighting!

At Opinwood in Droek's Wagon:

In case Paulson joined the party:
Dawn: Baccata! [Champion]! Paulson! What news do you have from the Draracle?
The Champion: Well, we think we know where to make the Elixir, and we're making progress in assembling the ingredients, but frankly, we barely know what we're doing.
The Champion: It appears the Draracle is fond of riddles.
Dawn: Be that as it may, you are, at this moment, Gladstone's best hope. Perhaps, if you show me his riddle, I could be of some assistance.
Dawn: Oh yes, take my key to Richard's casket. It, along with Paulson's and the other two, will allow access in order that you may apply the Elixir to poor Richard.
Baccata: Splendid! Come now, hurry, let us be off to save our good king.
Dawn: Baccata, you know this violence interferes with your training! You must stay here with me!
Baccata: Here now! I will not abandon my friends, nor my King! My personal achievement means nothing while the kingdom is in peril!
Dawn: Fine! If you must ignore my counsel, I cannot stop you.

In case Paulson didn't join the party:
Dawn: Baccata! [Champion]! It is you! What news do you have from the Draracle?
The Champion: Well, we think we know where to make the Elixir, and we're making progress in assembling the ingredients, but frankly, we barely know what we're doing.
Dawn: Be that as it may, you are, at this moment, Gladstone's best hope. Take my key to Richard's casket.
Dawn: It, along with its three counterparts, will allow access in order that you may apply the Elixir to poor Richard.

Giving the Riddle Scroll to Dawn:
Dawn: I see. This is quite obscure. I think the mother of which he speaks is Mother Earth. There is a mystic reagent called Earth Powder. I would try that.
The Champion: Thank you! I will write that on my parchment.

Giving the Riddle Scroll to Dawn again:
Dawn: I can discern no new information from this.

Approaching Dawn:
Dawn: Hurry! The entire realm awaits your success.

Leaving:
Dawn: [Champion], at least take these vials to hold some of the ingredients of your Elixir.
Dawn: Perhaps this Vaelan's Cube will help you as well.

Returning:
Dawn: Have you found the Elixir?
The Champion: We haven't made it yet.
Dawn: I am making progress on my spell. Return when you have the Elixir.

Inspecting the Crystal Ball at Castle Cimmeria:
The Champion: What an odd location for furniture.
The Champion: What strange magics hold her captive?
The Champion: How did Dawn get in such a small ball?

Freeing Dawn from the Crystal Ball:
Dawn: [Champion]! Paulson! I owe you my internal gratitude.
Dawn: So what of Richard? Is he safe?
The Champion: (Before curing Richard): We have not yet freed His Highness.
The Champion: (After curing Richard): We have freed Richard from Scotia's clutches and now we search for the vile hag, herself.
Dawn: I shall gather our forces and return to join you soon. My best wishes go with you.

After The Defeat of Scotia and The Return of King Richard:
Richard: Congratulations!
Richard: You have served me well.
Geron: A luckier adventurer Gladstone never saw!
Dawn: It has been a pleasure serving with you.
